Monoid's new album, "Satisfaction Shift," once again takes a different perspective on the industrial genre. This time, distorted acoustic bass lines are often in the foreground, meeting distortion and speech samples. This results in quiet, slow pieces that nevertheless have the necessary heaviness. But also classical instruments find their way back into the sound, right in the intro strings and military snares meet distortions and electronic rhythms. For long stretches the album oscillates between noise and ambient, but also rhythmic outliers and heavily distorted outbreaks can be found. Thematically, the album does not remain untouched by the past years. The feeling that time is passing slower and faster at the same time. The voices that try to tune into the collapse of society. The difficulty of separating people and data. All this "Satisfaction Shift" picks up and strives to give the content a fitting soundtrack.
